Presences at TIME in SPACE (aftermath)
Created in: May 1st, 2017
Medium: Installation (Canvas Fabric & Bubble Wraps)
STAND ON IT WALK ON IT JUMP ON IT PLAY ON IT
ON WHAT? ON MY READY-MADE CANVAS
Presented as a Painting
Activator: the viewers who directly interact with the work so that leave marks of their traces by the gravity on their weight.
Observer: the viewers who only observe all the phenomenons with the facilitator, but exist in the boundary of the time-space that the work creates, and thus witnesses the moment of creation of trace.
Operated by the participants, the activator, my painting is becoming completed and I, as a facilitator, share my authorship to all “presences” (as they can observe, contribute and even inhabit as remnants in colors) in order to capture fragments of those presences on my ready-made canvas as each bubble is popped only by a single presence, at once.
Appealed by the tactile sensory of bubble wraps, an amorphous substance, the activators step on this canvas, perhaps suspiciously and with full of uncertainty, not knowing what is underneath, although this happening ultimately leads them to experience joyful and playful interaction.
As a diptych of the Presence at Time in Space, the video also shows the moment till the work is claimed to be finished, which is controlled by me again as I claim back the total time-space authorship of my work. As I bring the work back to my own private possession after I archived the fragments of the presences, the ready-made canvas is transformed into a painting and revealed as a finished work in an intended orientation.
